Kicking off 2015 right — in Europe.

Happy new year, everyone! Hoping you all were able to spend some time with your family and friends. I was lucky enough to spend Christmas in Los Angeles, and then New Years in Oslo with my absolute favorite Norwegian. And, I finally got to see Norway in the snow, and I have to say that I’m smitten. The winter is actually worse here in DC… so I’ll probably just have to move to Oslo at some point in my life.

Real talk, though, I’d really like to just take a couple of months off to live in northern Norway during the winter — chasing the aurora borealis would be my jam.

Itching for more Norway photos? Check out my summer snapshots from Bergen and Oslo.

Pimm’s Cup

Woo hoo, check out the first Sweetsonian video! That is if you don’t count this one.

My talented colleague and friend, Matty, came over one Saturday, and directed a fun video on how to mix up your very own Pimm’s Cup — which has been my cocktail of choice all summer. Why stop at fall? I’ll probably be drinking them all winter long, too.

In other news, I’m working on building up my Etsy shop again — check out some pretty photos (or cocktail prints here and here).

Pimm’s cup recipe derived from Food52.

A Flight of Fancy

Tonight, I’m hopping on a plane for my first of two major vacations for the summer. I did, however, stumble upon an amazing series of videos of one of my favorite coffee shops in New York City.

While I’m heading in the opposite direction, the music drew me inward, to nights of salsa dancing back in Los Angeles.

No recipe today, but I’ll have a five hour flight. So I’ll be in touch soon enough.

Hope you all have a fabulous weekend! Enjoy Alan Gastelum‘s video, Abraco: Open.

Creative Moment: Relax

I’ve been running around DC like a madwoman today, filming tidbits of political celebrities for work (Arne Duncan is by far my favorite secretary. Yes, he is one of only two Secretaries that I’ve actually met).

After what felt like 24 hours of explaining film shots, setting up cameras, breaking them down, and repeating the entire process, I sat down at my desk and heaved a sigh that could have continued for days.

And then I found this video on Colossal. If you’ve had a hectic day, just watch and listen. And, if you have the energy, read up on it here.
